Well, the weather was absolutely gorgeous again this weekend.
It couldn’t have been more appropriate than Sunday and Monday were perfect because the Autumn equinox was Tuesday which is the official first day of fall.
The Equinox occurs twice a year when the sun is right above the equator.
So the Autumn equinox begins fall in the Northern hemisphere and spring in the Southern Hemisphere.
The Vernal equinox which occurs in March is the opposite.
I spent some time in the garden Monday and it is obvious that the heat-loving plants are slowing down because of the cooler weather we have been having.
My tomato plants in our home vegetable garden are struggling not only from the cooler nights but as the sun moves further south the trees start shading the garden.
But the giant tomato in the boat garden is loaded with big beautiful tomatoes so we still have some coming!
And we still have vegetables available at The Saturday Market so we are open again this weekend.
We also have baked goods, salsas, tamales, spices and hummus, tabouli, and cabbage rolls.
Come and shop from 9:00 to noon. Enjoy the Earth! Diana
