Well, it’s Labor Day Weekend, usually indicating the end of summer.
But that doesn’t mean summer is over!
If the weather holds out, we can enjoy a lot more days on the lake.
Likewise with the vegetable garden.
Usually by the end of August the vegetable gardens are fried from heat stress and lack of rain.
But this summer has been amazing and the summer crops just keep on giving.
And you can plant seeds of beets, radishes, turnips, spinach, lettuce, carrots…and other vegetables for a fall garden.
SO, I have been saying this would be the last weekend for the Market, but the Saturday Morning Market vendors are wanting to continue beyond Labor Day because they are still harvesting! Yippee!
Last Saturday we had squashes, cucumbers, lettuce, peppers, potatoes, green beans, okra, onions, and plenty of tomatoes, along with an array of baked goods, salsas, jellies, tamales, spices, cabbage rolls, etc.
Come and shop from 9:00 to noon. Enjoy the Earth! Diana
