Holy cow, I can’t believe Thanksgiving is next week!
We are back to warming temperatures again this week, so it is hard to feel like it is November in the first place.
I’m not complaining…we’ve had our cold days, but then it gets warm again, crazy!
So I guess if you haven’t bought some Chrysanthemums for Thanksgiving decor, you better do it quick.
In another couple of weeks, it will be Poinsettias and Christmas Cactus, along with Rosemary plants trimmed in the shape of little Christmas trees, and of course various evergreens.
We still have bell peppers in the garden and I picked another round of ripe tomatoes off the ugliest plants you’ve ever seen.
I still have some green tomatoes on the boat garden plant and the volunteer potato plants look great. As long as the foliage is in good shape, they will continue to make potatoes under all the soil.
The mint is also making a huge comeback with the cooler temperatures.
We have gobs of mint, dill, and cilantro and my worn out parsley plants are starting to make nice green foliage again as well.
Overall, we have eaten more vegetables from the garden this year than ever before with a perfect spring, an almost perfect summer, and an extended season for tomatoes this fall.
I have to admit, I’m about ready for a break but as long as something is growing out there, I’ll be picking and using it for something!!
Enjoy the Earth! Diana
