Happy New Year Everybody!

There goes another year and it went way too fast.

In spite of ups and downs, overall it was a good year and we are going to do everything we can to make 2022 even better!!

So we had an awesome New Year’s Eve at the restaurant with a great crowd and smooth sailing throughout the evening.

It was nice to have the next day to rest.

I finally got around about noon to run some errands and pick up some groceries.

Within an hour or so the temperatures started to drop and the wind picked up.

We all knew the “big freeze” was coming but so many things in the garden have been beautiful.

So of course I am going to try to save anything I can. I grabbed some of the thick tablecloths we use at work to cover stuff up.

By the time I was ready to do it, everything was already frozen.

I covered the herbs in the boat anyway but this freeze was a tough one – Mother Nature won out this time, everything is toast.

As for the herbs in the boat, I went out the next day to get some cilantro for salsa.

It was still green but frozen solid and just broke off in my hand.

The good news…it still made a great salsa!

Well, I guess we can finally put the garden to bed for the winter.

Enjoy The Earth! Diana
