‘Twas the night before Christmas and all around Grand, the trees were all trimmed and placed into their stands.
The gifts were all wrapped, snuggled under the tree, topped with ribbons and bows and holly berries.
The stockings were hung on the mantle with care, full of candy and toys that mom had put there.
The kids were all sleeping, their heads full of dreams, of sugar plums and hot chocolate with lots of whipped cream.
Suddenly it is morning and the coffee is on, Christmas Day is here, no more chores to be done.
The wine was a chillin’, the turkey was stuffed, and the tree was sparkling with holiday fluff.
The fireplace was lit bringing warmth to the room, the gifts were in place for the opening soon.
It wasn’t too long and the kids were awaking, to holiday music and the smell of things baking.
Soon grandma and grandpa awoke with a clatter, and were greeted with hugs and kisses and chatter.
Now they were awake the gifts could be opened, come on let’s get to it and quit all this loafin’.
Settled down by the tree sipping cups of hot cocoa, the kids were excited, their eyes all aglow-oh.
With paper and bows flying over the floor, one after the other, oh look, there’s one more .
After the hubbub was done, it was finally time, to carve up the turkey and perhaps have some wine.
And give thanks for this privilege on us that’s bestowed, this can’t be replaced with silver or gold.
As I say every year, we should always remember, why we celebrate Christmas the month of December.
And that is a special and sweet baby boy, that was born to this world to bring peace and great joy.
And also to teach us to love and be kind, for there are many in need, so keep that in mind.
Merry Christmas Grand Lakers, and soon a new year, give plenty of hugs and spread lots of good cheer!
Joy to the Earth! Diana
